Julianne Hough - National Anthem

So I always love the National Anthem. I can rarely hear it without it bringing tears to my eyes. It just really touches me and I love it when people can change it without "changing it", ya know. Anyway, I love this version of it that she sings. This is Julianne Hough, the lds girl from Dancing With The Stars. She has her first cd coming out. She's country.... Thought you might like it.

Big Climbs!

So this was our ride on Saturday... If you can tell what it is... The graph is the elevation that we rode. Jacob and I headed out to conquer Clodfelter (do y'all remember where Clodfelter is) anyway, I've never been all the way up it. So we went up it, and up and up and up... Then we crossed over the top and came down Webber Canyon. Thats the other big climb here. I've never done it cuz I've never thought I'd be able to make it up. So the dip in the middle is Benton City. Then we decided to take on Webber, and so we turned around and went back up, up, up to the top, over and back down Clodfelter. 55 miles total... and a lot of climbing. I burned over 4000calories on that ride. I've never climbed that hard before!

My next big goal is the Seattle to Portland ride, 200 miles, in July, all in one day. So we have to log some serious miles on our bikes. But I think I am up for it!

I was also down 5 pounds this morning from last Monday, that's my weigh in day... which is a total of 28 pounds since last fall. It is finally coming off. Its such slow going that I get discouraged and its hard for me to see the difference, but its obviously happening. I just need to be patient. I feel like I am finally starting to get the hang of it. Better late than never, right?

Happy Memorial Day everyone! Enjoy your day off with your families!

So I have to admit that I watch way too much tv... I'd love to say I am one of those people who doesn't have a tv and I do many productive things at night... But no, I watch tv every night after the kids go to bed. The good thing is we record everything on our DVR, so I can watch shows twice as quickly... Ok the point of this post is this... Have you seen all of the shows that are cancelled for next season...?
So I am totally addicted to the show "Moonlight" Have you seen it? It is so good.... And it is cancelled... I am way not into vampires at all, until I read those stupid Twilight books (Which I loved) Anyway, Moonlight was kinda like that... Good vampire... ya know? Anyway, I'm totally bummed its been cancelled.
I also really liked; "Womens Murder Club", which has been cancelled as has "October Road".
I wish they would give shows at least a couple of seasons before they get cancelled. Did you know they almost cancelled Seinfeld after the first season because so few people watched it. And it ended up being a phenomenom that we still quote and watch... On line today it had a list of 39 shows cancelled for next season... Ok, and at least if they are going to cancel them they could give them an ending... Not leave everyone hanging with no closure. I know, too involved....

Happy Mother's Day!

So, for a long time, I have been thinking about posting something about my husband, but like many things when it comes to him, I push him to the back burner and do something else. I just want him to know what a wonderful husband and father I think he is. He goes out of his way to put me first, to make sure my needs are met. I am so grateful for him and for everything he does for me to help me be a better person, wife and mother.
I don't know how a person can be so giving of themselves and always strive to give all they have... He works so hard for our family so I can have a nice house, and car and things for the kids. We have never wanted for anything. He has become all that I could ask for in a husband.
We have grown closer over the years. Each year has gotten better and better and I fall more and more in love with him as time passes. I am so grateful that he puts up with my shortcomings and loves me in spite of them, or maybe because of them. He always strives to make me feel like the most beautiful and wonderful person. His nickname for me is "Bonita" which he always thought meant Beautiful, (he just found out a couple of weeks ago that it means pretty, but to us it is Beautiful) He has this daring streak which I try to ignore, but as much as it worries me, it is also one of the reasons I fell in love with him.
I'm sorry this isn't as eloquent as so many of my other friends posts are, I should've had one of them write it. But I just love you Jacob and am so lucky to have you in my life.
Thanks for making this Mother's Day a Special day and for the wonderful card you gave me and for helping me be a better person!
"Love you Babe!"

UGH!!!!

So the other day I am getting ready for the day and I notice my wedding ring is missing. I always put it on my bathroom counter at night when I brush my teeth. So I am looking all over the bathroom for it all day... Where could it be? My other ring that I just got in Hawaii is still on the counter so it has to be around somewhere. All day I can't find it.
When Ky gets home from school I ask him if he knows where it is. "I saw it on the bathroom counter when I was brushing my teeth this morning," he says... "Did you touch it or move it" (that's me asking) "No, it was just there." He says... Ok, so the day goes on, the whole day. I can't find it anywhere. I am kinda starting to get worried. I should have found it by now.
So the kids are getting ready for bed and I think, I need to ask Kyson one more time. "Hey, Kyson, are you sure you don't know where my ring could be?"
"Well, it might be in my jeans pocket," he says.... "WHAT?!" SERIOUSLY.... THE WHOLE DAY!?
Through my mind starts running all of the things he would've done that day... bus, school, recess, playground, grandma's house, outside, friend's house.... Where had it fallen out? Did he give it to some girl at school? Trade it for a piece of candy? I am kinda starting to freak out....
So he goes and gets his jeans that he had tossed on the floor... and low and behold.... there is my 1.5 carat diamond solitaire plus 1 carat bands in the pocket of his jeans....
What do you do? I was floored... He said he lied the first time 'cuz he knew I'd be mad at him. Hmm? Ya think? So am I supposed to be less mad now? I just couldn't believe it...
Needless to say, I don't think he'll be taking it again....
I posted a picture for you all to see my ring. I was so happy we found it!

Hawaii, Baby!

Well, we are back!:( We had so much fun! We can't wait to go back again, soon, maybe fall...

So we went to Maui for 8 days with our friends, Cory & Sonja Hansen. They took their 5 month old baby, Lily, so we also took Lorry Bare to go take care of Lily while we played. It was a week of beaches, swim suits and fun! I think we ended up in the Ocean every day, at some point.

Lets see if I can remember what we did.... We arrived on Thursday, we got checked in, went to dinner, I ate a piece of sushi for the first time. (I had to pick of anything that had to do with seafood, but it was pretty good) Then Jacob and I drove out to Ho'opika Beach and just watched the waves and the surfers. Unbelievable!

Friday we went to Makena Beach, this whole beach with like 2 other people on it! It was awesome. We snorkeled out and saw these huge sea turtles, and lots of cool coral and fish. Saturday we went to Lahaina and rented surf boards and went to a beach just south of Lahaina. We spent the day there and then went to the Old Lahaina Luau. It was super fun! (too bad we don't drink, they offer free drinks, ya know. We didn't even think of getting virgin versions of the drinks. oops.) The guys climbed Haleakala, its a Volcano. From sea level up for 35 miles to reach a summit of 10,000 feet. It was a climb. I can't believe they made it up. It took quite a while to get up, hours, but they flew down in 45 minutes or less. They beat us in the car coming down. CRAZY!

Monday, Jacob and I were up and at the boat dock by 6 am to go Scuba Diving out to Molikini, a crater in the ocean. It was awesome. I got down 100 feet, for the first time. It was my first dive since getting certified a year ago. I was kinda trippin at the beginning! We saw two sharks and we could hear a whale. We never saw it, but we could hear it. So cool. Then we went to Red Rock, and dove again. We saw tons of turtles, and so many different kinds of fish. The water was so beautiful. Our first dive, you could see all the way to the 100 foot bottom. It was spectacular! What a rush.
We did more surfing, more beaches...

On Tuesday, I think, we hiked in the Bamboo forest. We hiked up to one water fall and then you go up above it and keep hiking to the next one. We did the first three while Hansens went on up to the fourth one. They were so pretty. But there wasn't much falling water. I guess it hasn't rained much so they were pretty bare. But still beautiful. That night, Jacob and I took off to Lahaina to walk through the little town and have dinner at Bubba Gumps. Its just the cutest little town. We went back there on Thursday and spent most of the day there and had lunch at Cheeseburgers in Paradise, Tiff's suggestion, thanks Tiff. It was super yummy! We went back to our beach Thursday night to watch the last Maui Sunset of our trip and then went to dinner and to the airport for our red eye flight home. We got home Friday morning about 11:30.

What a fantastic week. The whole week was one high after another. I felt such a rush each time we did something, scuba, hiking, water falls, trying to surf, (I did get up a couple of times for like 2 seconds--- I am going to master that for next time! Even just sitting on the beach or watching the sunset just makes you feel so good. I've never had such a fantastic week. I think we are addicted to it. We can't wait to go back. I was a little worried I'd be disappointed after all of the years wanting to go. But it was actually better than I imagined.

A huge thanks to my sister, Michelle, who came and stayed with my kids. She was so wonderful and they had so much fun with her, and we just didn't worry about them at all. It was so nice. And to Tiff and my mother in law for helping out, and everyone else who helped too. I have such wonderful friends and family. Thanks~

Oh yea, funny story.... The first night we go out to hot tub, and there are naked people in the swimming pool. 6 of them. I dared Sonja to take their clothes and throw them over the fence, which she did... apparently they were wasted, two of them had just gotten engaged that day and they were CELEBRATING! (I'd say!)... we ran into them the next day at the pool and I was like "Hey, its the naked people!" they about died. It was pretty funny. We saw them everywhere during the week! Lots of laughs.
