I had another one.... a Birthday!

Well, yesterday I had a birthday and turned 31! I am not excited to say I'm 31. 30 was fun... 30, Flirty and Thriving, right? 31 just sounds... Blah, I guess. Oh well, what do you do? I really appreciated all of the cards and emails and stuff I received. It sure made me feel good that so many of my friends remember. I feel bad, as I am sure I have missed many of your birthdays.
So what did we do? Well, Jacob took me to lunch at PF Changs, which I love! I had some Spicy Green Beans and Szechwan Asparagus... MMMMMM... they were both so good. I actually preferred the asparagus, but I love them both. I wish I could make asparagus taste like that. Then Jacob came home and watched the kids so I could go get a pedicure. Then we had a bunch of family and friends over for dinner and dessert. We played the Animal game, a favorite. Ya know the one where you clap and send signs and stuff. So I started in the "King" chair, and was there forever, like an hour at least. Then we made a rule that if you messed up instead of going to the end you were out of the game, to get it to end. So the very first time doing that I got out. SERIOUSLY! It was pretty funny.
Jacob got me an IPhone, which I was pretty excited about. He also got this inflatable slide & climbing thing for summertime for the kids. That should help the time pass when there is no school. He also had 2 dozen roses for me when we went to lunch and the sweetest card. The boys got me a CTR ring that I'd been wanting. I felt totally spoiled.
At my little party thing, one of my friends husband, Billy, said we should all go around and say something that we like about Annette. I wonder why it is so hard to accept compliments from people? I have a really hard time with that. But it really felt wonderful. I think we should do that for each other more often. I remember doing that is Psychology class in High School. I kept that paper forever. Everyone wrote something they liked about you. Anyway, it sure makes you feel good.
Ok, so now I am rambing, sorry! Anyway, it was a great day and I'm sure I will get used to being 31, probably about the time I turn 32... UGH!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY ANNETTE! I didn't know your birthday was yesterday. It sounds like it was a fun one! I turned 32 in January and it is hard each year being reminded that you are OLDER! The 20's were fun and becoming an adult. But now....

Happy Birthday again, and hope this year brings you what your heart and spirit desires.

Happy Birthday, Annette! I'm 32, looking at 33 coming around the corner. It is starting to be depressing! I was NOT excited about turning 30. There's something so wonderful and young about being in your 20s and 30s just makes you realize there's no turning back to those days of youth and high metabolism! Sounds like you had a wonderful day.

I'm so glad I'm not the only one struggling with the 30's.... It was my first birthday that I felt like I was getting older. Which I'm sure is all in my attitude right! Its all what I make of it. Maybe this will be my best year yet!

I glad to hear you enjoyed your birthday. Though, you are making me nervous to turn 31 as I didn't have a hard time with 30 either. Happy 31st year!
I read your new comments on your kids - very sweet. Which school does Ky attend? Nathan is going into K. next year and I'm starting to look ahead.

I'm glad you had a good birthday..wish I could have been there to celebrate with you! And since I didn't get to be there to say what I love about you...you are a wonderful sister to me and I just love that we've been able to become better friends over these last couple years in addition to being sisters. You always seemed so much older than me growing up, but now we don't feel so far apart :) (31 is not old!) Anyways, I'm grateful to have you in our family and I love you so much!

Thanks everyone! You are all so sweet... Hey Dawn, the marble jar (maybe I will take a picture) is just a small canning type jar that the kids get to put marbles in for doing different things, around our house, (sitting on the toilet, flushing and washing will get you 3marbles if you don't have to be reminded)... clearing plates, obeying the first time... ya know. Sometimes they have to take marbles out if they backtalk, (which I'm sure no one else's kids d0 :)) anyway, when the jar gets full we go to a movie, or pizza or Toys R Us, or something fun. The boys love it! Whew... that was long!
