HELP! 5K Run! Is it Doable?

Ok, so I am thinking about doing a 5K run... the prob is, its in just a couple of weeks.... UGH! I just started jogging again and I'm not sure if I can be ready by then. I have never done an organized run before and a 5K really isn't that far. I just get so bored jogging on the treadmill I never go further than 2 miles. So... Any ideas to not get bored or feel like I want to die while I am jogging. I wish I was better at it. I think it would be fun to be a "Runner!" Although I loved my friends post that even a slow jog should still be called a run. Or something like that. Let me know if you runners have any great ideas for me!

Of course you can do it! If you are already RUNNING 2...a 5k is only another mile...and there is no shame in walking a little bit! I listen to silly crazy songs that make me happy on my ipod. I seriously don't think I could get through a RUN without it! I have a playlist just for running. People keep telling me I shouldn't use my ipod out on the street for safety reasons, but I feel like I can still hear what is going on around me. Sorry about the book here.

Ok.. so what songs? I need some new jogging songs! Tell me your top 10! Maybe I will do a poll...

I HATE running but, I heard that It only takes a few weeks of practice to do it! My goal is to at least jog the whole thing without stopping!

Yea, me too. I'd like to be able to do a 10k, without walking, by the end of the year. Yesterday, I biked for an hour and then jogged 2 miles. You'd think if I could do that I could just jog for a few extra miles, but jogging is so much harder for me then biking. Maybe its because I always tell myself it is...:) How about..."I love Jogging! It is so easy and fun!" :)
